California Real Estate Broker License

 

    1. Be at least 18 years old.
    2. Meet the experience requirement: generally, at least 2 years of full-time licensed real estate salesperson experience within the last 5 years, or qualifying equivalent experience.
    3. Complete 8 required college-level real estate courses, including Real Estate Practice, Legal Aspects, Finance, Appraisal, Economics or Accounting, plus three approved electives. Enroll Now!
    4. Apply to the California Department of Real Estate (DRE) for the broker examination. You may apply online through eLicensing and submit your transcripts and experience documentation.
    5. Complete Live Scan/fingerprinting for the required background review.
    6. Schedule and pass the California Broker Examination. Ready to Pass Exam Here.  
    7. Submit the broker license application and required fees to DRE. You can also use the combined Broker Exam/License Application (RE 436).
    8. Receive your California Real Estate Broker License.
